In April of 2009, eight poets from the Creative Spirit East poetry group came to the studios of CKDU campus/community radio to record some of their spoken word and poetry. Host of CKDU’s ‘The Poetry Show’, David Rimmington, welcomed the guests and invited them each to read from their works.

Creative Spirit East is a collective of artists challenged by disabilities who work together to express themselves through their art, build on their talent and skills, learn about the business of art, showcase their artwork and meet with the public at venues and galleries largely managed by themselves.

Poets included Anna Quon, Jon Welland, Betrina Tremonica, Noell Hingley, Greg Brumwell, Sheila Morrison and Michael Seary.
